Selama ini Google dikenal memiliki tradisi unik gan, untuk memberi nama sandi setiap kali merilis OS Android generasi terbaru. Yup, tradisi penggunaan urutan alfabet dengan sandi nama makanan, nampaknya dipastikan akan berlanjut dipenerus generasi OS Android selanjut.

Saat ini OS Android sudah sampai di alpabet “N”, yang dilambangkan dengan nama makanan “Nougat”. Android Nougat sendiri sejatinya belum begitu lama beredar di pasaran, namun nyatanya hal tersebut tak menghentikan Google menggarap versi selanjutnya. Sesuai urutan, maka generasi Android selajutkan, akan menggunakan kode dengan awalan O

Lockheimer mengungkapnya lewat akun Twitter miliknya. Dalam kicauan di akun Twitter resminya @lockheimer, petinggi Android tersebut, mem-posting sebuah video yang menunjukkan sebuah kue tart dengan hiasan biskuit coklat yang cukup dikenal di dunia. Biskuit coklat yang terkenal itu, adalah Oreo.

Bocoran ini selaras dengan tebakan penerus Android N yang bisa dipastikan adalah Android O. Menariknya lagi, informasi lainnya juga menyebut kalau Android O mungkin sudah akan diumumkan kehadirannya di tahun 2017 ini.

Google sendiri bakal menggelar acara Google I/O 2017 pada pertengahan bulan Mei mendatang, tepatnya pada 17-19 Mei nanti. Gelaran itu pun disebut-sebut akan jadi waktu kelahiran Android O bersandi Oreo.

Suzuki Swift Terbaru Hadir dalam Empat Varian, Dilego Mulai Rp 150 Jutaan

Usai sudah penantian ujung dari berbagai spyshot sebelumnya, generasi terbaru hatchback Suzuki Swift resmi meluncur di Jepang, Selasa (27/12/2016).

Spesifikasi untuk Jepang diperkenalkan dan mulai dijual pada 4 Januari 2017.

Swift terbaru dirancang di atas platform Heartect yang memangkas bobot, menambah kekakuan, serta memperbaiki performa ketimbang model lama.

Swift sekarang lebih panjang 10 mm (3.840 mm), lebih pendek 10 mm (1.525 mn) dari sebelumnya. Sedangkan lebarnya sama, 1.695 mm.

Secara keseluruhan, siluet bodi Swift masih mirip seperti pendahulunya. Hanya saja ada berbagai perubahan desain, yakni pada lampu depan LED dengan bentuk makin tipis serta gril dan bemper baru.

Ubahan lain terlihat pada pilar C yang membuat bagian atap seperti melayang. Pegangan pembuka pintu tersembunyi di tempat ini menjadikan penampilan makin klimis.

Di kabin juga banyak hal baru, yakni pada desain dashboard, ventilasi AC, warna two tone, climate control, dan instrument cluster.

Belum selesai, urusan keselamatan penumpang juga dijamah lebih serius. Kini Swift punya sampai enam kantong udara, anti-lock braking system merupakn fitur standar.

Pada varian tertinggi terdapat sistem laser untuk brake assist, autonomous emergency braking, lane departure warning, dan adaptive cruise control.

Varian hibrida

Di Jepang, Swift generasi keempat ini tersedia enam varian, RSt, Hybrid RS, RS, Hybrid ML, XL, dan XG.

Tersedia dua pilihan mesin, bensin K10C 3-silinder 1.0L Boosterjet dengan turbo yang menghasilkan tenaga 102 PS dan torsi 150 Nm serta diesel K12C 4-silinder 1.2L Dualjet bertenaga 91 PS dan torsi 118 Nm.

Mesin 1.0L hanya ditawarkan pada varian RSt, berikut transmisi otomatis 6-percepatan.

Varian RS, XL, dan XG dibekali mesin 1.2L dengan pilihan transmisi manual 5-percepatan atau CVT.

Versi hibrida, Hybrid RS dan Hybrid ML, menggunakan teknologi Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki (SHVS) yang sudah dipasang di sedan Ciaz dan MPV Ertiga. SHVS pada dua varian itu dipadangkan dengan mesin diesel 1.2L.

Pada SHVS sudah termasuk teknologi Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) yang berperan sebagai altenator canggih.

Tenaga listrik dari pengereman disimpan dalam baterai lithium ion. Tenaga yang tersimpan itu digunakan untuk membantu akselerasi mobil. Semua varian hibrida menggunakan CVT.

Di Jepang, Swift dihargai mulai 1.343.520 yen (Rp 153,84 juta) hingga 1.941.840 yen (Rp 222,35 juta).

Satovsky mengatakan, bahwa kemajuan teknologi yang sedang berlangsung telah memproduksi senjata jenis baru, termasuk yang berbais pada elemen hipersonik yang mampu bermanuver sangat tinggi.
“Berkat karakteristik teknis luar biasa yang mereka miliki, sistem tersebut akan dapat menembus hampir setiap pertahanan rudal yang ada secara virtual, sehingga memastikan paritas strategi militer global pada 30-40 tahun mendatang,” kata Satovsky.

Berdasarkan laporan media, tahun ini Rusia telah dua kali menguji peluncur hipersonik yang dimaksudkan untuk mengganti hulu ledak tradisional untuk rudal balistik antarbenua generasi baru, termasuk Heavy Sarmat ICBM.
Dalam sebuah wawancara dengan RIA Novosti, seorang pakar militer, Boris Litovkin mengatakan, bahwa setelah memasuki atmosfer, kendaraan hipersonik dengan kemampuan manuver ultra mampu mengubah targetnya saat meluncur, sehingga sangat sulit untuk dicegat.
Pesawat hipersonik mampu meluncur lebih dari lima kali kecepatan suara atau setara dengan 330 meter per detik.

Lima hari lalu secara resmi perusahaan aplikasi benchmark smartphone,AnTuTu, baru saja merilis daftar smartphone tercepat dan terbaik di bulan November 2016. Dalam daftar tersebut, terdapat smartphone yang memiliki sistem operasi iOS dan Android.

Sementara itu, beberapa smartphone besutan Xiaomi berhasil mendapatkan posisi. Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus berhasil menduduki peringkat 4 dengan skor 153.777. Sedangkan Xiaomi Mi Note 2 harus rela berada di posisi 6 dan Mi 5s hanya mampu menempati posisi 8 saja.

Smartphone canggih terbaru Huawei Mate 9 berhasil masuk posisi 7 meskipun baru saja diluncurkan. Selain itu, smartphone buatan Huawei ini menggunakan prosesor sendiri yang bernama HiSilicon Kirin 960.

Untuk OnePlus 3 yang menggunakan prosesor Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 harus rela menempati posisi 9 saja karena OnePlus 3T baru saja diluncurkan sehingga belum bisa masuk dalam daftar bulan November 2016.

I had been working with Jason Toy, founder of Somatic.io, on projects in this space. With a shared interest in getting these ideas out of the theoretical and into prototyping and experimentation, we organized a hackathon-style event, focused on “A.I. for designers” with R/GA and Somatic. We brought together a likeminded group of designers, data scientists and engineers across our networks to build stuff over the course of a full day.

But training new models—especially with machine learning—tends to take a long time (days to weeks). We had to do things a bit differently than we would have for other hackathons. To make it a productive session, we focused on a few key themes and projects, and for each one prepared tools and bootstrap code in advance.

Here’s what the teams came up with — in just one day.

Natural Language Generation

The first project was all about Machine Learning and language, language understanding, and the potential impact of generative models on writing. Inspired by papers such as Andre Karpathy’s and word-based RNN text generation approaches we wanted to see what we could do in a short period of time.

They built a Rap Bot where users could battle the greatest rappers of any generation by selecting their favorite rap era, which would then dictate the corpus of rap lyrics used to generate responses during the battle. The team was able to bang out a Facebook Messenger bot implementation using Reply.ai (one of the companies in R/GA’s Commerce Venture portfolio).

The Tensorflow, word-rnn based framework yielded some fun and impressive results, given the short training time we had. That said, we continue to work on a more complex approach using skip-thought vectors but this was outside the scope of the hackathon, in part due to the long training time needed.

The second project explored “Neural Style,” an idea expressed in papers like this one, and Justin Johnson’s open source implementation. Jason’s company Somatic.io provides APIs that enable applications of generative models, which was key in accelerating experimentation. Using their APIs, we were able to get the less technical folks up and running very quickly, applying styles to their images.
